Consistency check of NetBackup EMM and BMR databases using the command line or NetBackup “dbadmin” utility.

There are two methods for validating the consistency of NetBackup EMM (Enterprise Media Manager) and BMR (Bare Metal Restore) Databases.

1.) Command line interface CLI
2.) NetBackup database administration utility which is included in NetBackup 6.5.2 or later.

Preprequesites
Stop all NetBackup Services on the EMM server
Once all services have stopped, start only the ASA Service.

Windows:
6.x: <install_path>\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpup -e ASANYs_VERITAS_NB
7.x: <install_path>\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpup -e SQLANYs_VERITAS_NB

1.) Command line interface CLI

Windows:

<install_path>\NetBackup\bin>nbdb_admin <databasename> -validate -full

2.) NetBackup database administration utility which is included in NetBackup 6.5.2 or later.

Windows:

<install_path>\NetBackup\bin>NbDbAdmin.exe

(The utility will like tas the below snap)

a.) Default password nbusql
b.) Select NBDB from database (Select BMRDB from database for BMR database consistency check)
c.) Click on Validate
d.) Select Full

Confirm that no errors were reported by checking the final line of the output.
